Over the past 12-months, there has been an increase in demand in California for Expert Neurologists and physicians capable of performing Neurology Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs). In an effort to meet the growing demand, California Medical Evaluators (CME) has added several neurology experts to its network of board-certified, highly qualified physicians.

A neurology IME is conducted by a board-certified neurologist and is primarily needed in personal injury cases to assess the medical condition of an individual. Neurologists diagnose and treat a wide variety of conditions involving the nervous system, including Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, headaches, ALS, MS, Parkinson’s disease, pinched nerves, seizures, back pain, brain tumors, strokes, and peripheral neuropathy. They can be extremely beneficial for personal injury cases involving the central nervous system.

Neurologists who evaluate an individual’s physical condition for the purposes of testifying in court are called neurology expert witnesses. Juries are most impressed with experts who have attended top schools and have had several years of experience in clinical practice. Finding an expert with research experience pertaining to the case is also very valuable. If possible, it is best to engage a physician who has previously been an expert witness, since such a person will have already proven that he or she is capable of performing successfully in such a situation.
