Billy Dixon is the author of several books, including the chapter book series' Patty Paperand Backyard Bones. After a decade of working as a sports writer for the Kingsport Times-News, he shifted his career to the world of children's literature and currently works for Scholastic Book Fairs. He has performed author presentations at more than 300 schools and spoken to hundreds of thousands of students. Originally from Kingsport, Tennessee, Dixon now lives in Huntersville, North Carolina with his wife, Robin, and two daughters, Reed and Allie.
