Bappi Lahiri to score with global rapper for Tel Ganesan’s Hollywood film Trap City
His Hollywood Connection goes back to the Mithun Chakravarty era where the 1982’s hit Indian musical drama film Disco Dancer’s soundtrack, Jimmy Jimmy Aaja Aaja, found its place in the Adam Sandler starrer ‘You Don’t Mess With The Zohan’ after which the track has been dubbed in over 45 languages in the world! Today, Bappi Lahiri, completing 50 years in films, is the record holder of hundred and eighty songs in 33 films and the one recording the greatest number of songs in a day.
Interestingly, Bappi Lahiri is all set to record an exciting rap number with an International rap star for Tel Ganesan’s Trap City. An American-Indian serial entrepreneur, business leader, investor, speaker, movie producer, philanthropist, inventor and publisher Tel K. Ganesan, has been the man behind Devil’s Night – Dawn of the Nain Rouge, besides Trap City and Celebrity Crush.
“The name Trap City is itself very exciting. Today, with modern day concrete jungles taking up the space of the greens, we are all living in trap cities. This Tel Ganesan film has something more that makes it closer to my heart. It is a musical replete with songs!” divulges Bappi Lahiri while adding, “When Ganesan narrated the film to me and I saw the trailer as well as his other film, Devil’s Night – Dawn of the Nain Rouge, I felt that our sensibilities match and I consented to do an exciting number for Trap City. I will be collaborating with global rapper on the same.”

Talking of Bappi Da’s tryst with Hollywood, 11 hits in the West include With Guts: Paradise For All and Ghost In The Sky, Jhoom Jhoom Jhoom Baba from Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki used in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki in Dev Patel starrer Lion, Kaliyon Ka Chaman from Jyoti used in the album Addictive among others.
Bappi da has also collaborated with rapper MC Hammer for Will To Live, an original motion picture soundtrack besides Lady Gaga, Akon and Snoop Dogg among others besides lending his voice to Shona in the Disney film, Moana. The Australian band, Ghost In The Sky, has also used his music piece in their album. And now it is Tel Ganesan’s Trap City that turns Bappi Da newsmaker yet again.
