WASHINGTON: The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), an independent nonprofit dedicated to preventing asbestos exposure, is proud to announce the 16th Annual International Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference, “Where Knowledge and Action Unite,” April 3-5 in Washington, D.C.

This year’s speakers include: Journalist Wendy Ruderman, of The Philadelphia Inquirer, who will deliver the Andrew Schneider Memorial lecture on the award-winning investigative story about asbestos in Philadelphia schools. ADAO will also be recognizing seven honorees, including filmmaker Judd Apatow and the Honorable Paul Tonko.

“ADAO is very proud that our annual conference brings together experts discussing the latest advancements in prevention, treatment, and global advocacy. Each year, nearly 40,000 Americans die from preventable asbestos-caused disease, yet imports and exposure continues,” said Linda Reinstein, ADAO Co-Founder. “ Our signature three-day conference includes Capitol Hill meetings, an academic conference, awards and recognition gala dinner featuring a performance by ADAO’s National Spokesperson, Jordan Zevon, and intimate Sunday brunch.”
