The Islamic Arts Society is inviting artists to submit pieces that shows their love and reverence for Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).  

 HOUSTON: Houston based Islamic Arts Society is inviting artists to submit art pieces that shows their love and reverence for Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Muslims have a long and dignified tradition of extolling the virtues of our beloved prophet in prose and poetry. The present competition seeks to exalt the remembrance of the Holy Prophet through visual art. Figurative images of revered personalities in Islam are NOT allowed and therefore we are soliciting traditional Islamic Art forms including calligraphy, geometric art, arabesque, Ebru and paintings among others.

Artists from anywhere in the world will be able to submit their art to enter this competition. There is no submission fee and all works must be original, entirely the work of the Artist. The winning entry will be awarded a grand prize of US Dollars 1000. The competition opens on the 1st of January and the deadline for submission of art is the 28th of February 2021. The winner will be announced on March 11th, 2021 which marks the celebration for the night of accension of the Holy Prophet (pbuh).

The Islamic Arts Society, a 501c3 educational charity, aims to share the rich heritage of Islamic Arts. The society organizes events to celebrate our culture and promote the positive image of the Muslim community. These include the largest and oldest festival of Islamic Arts in the USA and collaborations with museums, libraries, and universities for programs on Islamic Art. By promoting Islamic arts, the society hopes to promote mutual understanding, enhance cultural and religious harmony. The present competition is one such endeavor that aims not only to exalt the honorable place of our prophet but also shows our reverence to the Holy Prophet through artistic expression.
