Apeksha Films celebrates International Women’s Week in a unique way
International Women's Day Celebration

Women’s Day holds a great significance in today’s time. It is celebrated on March 8 every year to honour the achievements of women in various fields and Apeksha Films has always believed that empowering women is a great thing. It feels gratified to have honoured such prominent women at its ‘International Women’s Week’ celebration, which happened at Raheja Classique Club on March 6, 2019. Well-known personalities from various industries graced the occasion and the celebration ended on a happy note by felicitating the guest performers. Bigwigs starting from poetesses like Maya Govind, Chitra Desai, Rekha Babbal to actors like Shahbaz Khan, Mukesh Rishi, Muskan Bamne, Imran Khan and Vindu Dara Singh were present to glorify the celebration.

The event started at around 7.00 pm with all the guests lighting the ‘Diyas’. After that, Devmani Pandey, the host, gave a brief introduction of the celebration followed by a small speech by Apeksha Jaswal, daughter of Ajay Jaswal (CEO of Apeksha Films).

Then, the guest performers started coming up on the stage, the first being Bhupali Tamboli, one of the famous Kathak and Bharatnatyam dancers, who talked about the meaning of the ‘mudras’ and how it is related to life.. Every performance was so breath-taking that the audience remained glued to their chairs. Chitra Desai entertained the audience with her poem based on her life, while Rekha Nigam, the ex-programming head of Sony TV expressed her life’s journey in a dramatized manner. The performers shared their views on women empowerment, importance of women and how they believe that every single day is a woman’s day. The most high point of the get-together was when female synonym of Zakir Hussain, Anuradha Pal, and famous classical singer Soma Ghosh amused the audience with their duet performance based of ‘nari shakti’ and ‘holi’.  The performers left no stone unturned to create the mood and everyone present there was awestricken. While sufi singer Kavita Seth too woo the audiences with her beautiful voice, while  Abha Singh, lawyer and social activist mesmerised everyone with her inspirational speech on women’s right and how women should keep knowledge about everything.  Famous poetesses like Maya Govind, Rekha Babbal, Neha Sharad, Geeta Pandit and Malti Joshi also manifested their talents on this precious occasion.     

The event concluded with Ajay Jaswal and Maya Govind felicitating the guest performers with flowers and mementos as a mark of respect and appreciation, followed by dinner.
