Hosted and curated by singer and talk show host Mihir Joshi, on The MJ Show, the series begins with the hit song Galliyaan that has three terrific cover versions. We see Ragini Tandan, who gave us the epic chartbuster Lamberghini, has hit the notes perfectly about a song that’s all about longingness. This is soon followed by Aditi Bharadwaj, who leaves everyone mesmerized with her velvet-like voice and the strumming of the guitar makes you want to listen to this cover version on loop. Lastly, Priyankit Jaiswal offers a tribute to his mentor Akhil Sachdeva, the original singer of the track, by singing his version. After the two ladies, the cover sung by him makes you feel what Sufiyaan feels for Kainaat.

Next up, we have Intehaan and see Bollywood singer Akanksha Bhandari and her soothing voice be just what this song needed. It’s a cover that makes you want to sit in a corner, plug in your earphones, and listen to her voice on repeat. From the sombre tempo sung by Akanksha, Anurag Mohapatra gives a very upbeat tempo to the song with his energetic voice and the guitar accompanying him. Offering fans the best of both worlds, the two covers show everyone how the same song, can be felt in more than just one way.

The third cover on Aakhiri Baar is done by Varsha Tripathi, who has over a million followers on YouTube and seems to be enjoying every bit of the song going by her facial expressions. It is followed by a beautiful guitar cover by Shivam Bhatnagar. With words not doing the talking, He takes your breath away with the melody on display, all thanks to his fine guitar-playing skills.

Saving the best for the last, we have Rabba Khair Kari. Since this song is all about the way one is feeling, Simran Choudhary gets the Punjabi lyrics and the mood of this romantic track spot on. Sung perfectly, it makes you wish her cover version could have been a lot longer. Ketki Singh then gives us a cover that we’re not forgetting anytime soon. The third rendition of the track sees Arushi Mishra put her heart and soul into the song, giving fans a fantastic cover version of a song that continues to win on social media. The last cover for this lovely unplugged covers curated video, is sung by melodious Prajakta Shukre. You have loved her voice since the first Indian Idol and in scores of her covers and originals in films and the indie space. That ends this musically unplugged journey at just the right note.
