The Detailed Course of the Journey:

Generally, there are two routes that go to the Amaranth Cave. Devotees can either start their holy journey from Srinagar, or Pahalgam on foot.

However, the trek through Baltal is short steeper one, and thereby more convenient for returning only. Basically, the route takes almost around 2 days for completion, and the length is 14 kms long — Baltal – Domial – Barari - Sangam.

Furthermore, the route via Srinagar is the most popular course taken by the devotees. In this case, the trek takes about 4 to 5 days to complete, and the length varies from 36 kms to 48 kms.
