Writer and Musician Jennifer Juan Announces New EP 'Subliminals'
LONDON: Jennifer Juan has announced the release of her second EP, "Subliminals", available on all major digital music streaming platforms and digital music stores, including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, iTunes and Amazon worldwide on Friday the May 10th 2019.
Discussing the upcoming EP, Juan said, "Some of the tracks were inspired by poems I had already written, and it was really fun to transform existing projects into a new medium. I'm really excited to share this with people."
Juan released an album sampler to her official website, giving a preview of the upcoming EP, including the lead track White Wine, which will have an accompanying music video, to be released with the EP on the 10th of May, through Juan's official website and YouTube channel.
Coming just weeks before the release of her brand new poetry collection "Ol' Brown Eyes Is Back" at the end of May, and following the release of her recent single "A View From The Bridge", which has already amassed thousands of streams and listeners across several digital music platforms, Subliminals is another piece of the immersive creative universe Juan has built for her audience. A mixture of many styles of music, Subliminals finds inspiration in lofi pop, hip hop, and ambient music, tied together by Juan's witty and poetic lyrics, and soft, sweet voice.
"I tried a lot of new things with this record, and really experimented with different sounds," Juan said, discussing the upcoming release. "Each song focuses on a different subconscious thought or idea, such as doubt in relationships and a hidden desire to break away from the way society expects you to be."
"Subliminals" will be available from all major digital streaming platforms and digital music stores, including Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, Amazon, Bandcamp and iTunes from Friday, the 10th of May 2019, along with the music video for White Wine, which will be available to stream on JenniferJuan.com as well as YouTube.
Jennifer Juan is a cultural melting pot of an artist. She is a writer, a musician, a producer, a film maker and a podcast host, currently residing in the Kent countryside, but dreaming of the ocean. A tornado of darkness and delicacy, Juan creates engaging and powerful projects, using a variety of mediums and platforms, each dripping with her signature playful, yet powerful style of writing.
Beginning her journey as an artist as a teenager, Juan graduated from The University of Greenwich in 2013, and began sharing her work on her personal website, as well as through social media, posting written poetry and video projects.
In 2017, Juan began producing a weekly podcast, sharing her poetry, insights into her writing techniques, and released several printed volumes of poetry, including the critically acclaimed "Home Wrecker." 2017 also saw Juan's first venture into music, with her releasing her debut single "Past Preston," a haunting instrumental track that was the first step to the immersive cross media project, "Drowning In Us," an evocative and atmospheric narration of star crossed lovers, told through poetry, short stories, film and music.
Amassing over 29,000 listeners on Spotify alone, in her first year as an independent recording artist, Juan continues her journey as an artist, with her latest release, Subliminals.
Juan has written and released several acclaimed poetry collections, including Home Wrecker and 27, With A White Lighter. Juan also hosts the podcast "Sincerely, Jennifer x," an immersive look at her poetry, writing process, and her life so far that is available on all major podcast providers.
