PARKLAND, Fla.: 10-year-old Eden Gross, of Parkland, Florida, is sharing wisdom beyond her years… and is hoping to spread her message of overcoming strength, and the importance of mental health with her peers around the world.

Eden, who is a twin and attends school at Donna Klein Jewish Academy in Boca Raton, already has written and recorded two songs, with a third in the works. The theme of all three of the songs centers on being bigger than your fears, being unique yet belonging, and knowing that you are good enough.

According to her parents, Eden started performing at the age of 3 but really started writing with emotion at the age of 7. "She feels the same emotions that any child her age feels, with that unique perspective, but she is able to share it with the maturity of someone much older," her mother Shirley Gross explains. "It's always been more about the message than the performance for her. We, like Eden, believe everyone has a personal struggle and a story worth telling."

Eden is dedicating this series of songs to all the kids and teens who struggle with mental health, especially those who have had an extra hard time during the last year of the pandemic. "I want kids to know that they can overcome fears by seeing the light," Eden said. "And we shouldn't listen to those voices that tell us we're not good enough. Because we are."

Eden's first recorded song, titled "Shadows on the Wall", is available for download on all music websites, including Amazon, Apple Music, Boomplay, MediaNet, YouTube Music, iTunes, Spotify, and others. The record costs $1.29 and a portion of all sales will go to JAFCO (Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options) and Eagles Haven, a community wellness center created solely and mindfully for the Marjory Stoneman Douglas/Parkland community. Eden collaborated with songwriter Johnny Cummings on her first song.
