Mission Mangal (Mars Orbital Mission) was an outstanding achievement by the Indian scientists and engineers at ISRO (Indian Scientific Research Organization). This was a historical moment that would go down the lane of Indian history as a day when the Indian aeronautical science was recognized fully for its potential. The only nation to have been prosperous in its maiden attempt to orbit Mars is indeed an iconic feat that was thought impossible for a space research organization this naive.

This mission had the flashlight beam on India's capabilities in the fields of space research on an international level as this astounding feat had marked India as the fourth space agency in the world and the very first space agency in the whole of Asia to pull out a feat this commendable. Such was the impact of ISRO's success that the business tycoon and founder of reusable space fuel company of SpaceX, Elon Musk couldn't resist speaking about it.

This feat wasn't a rosy path. It came with complications and risks that could knock out India for years from the space lineage. With competitors such as massive as the NASA and even them not being able to orbit Mars in one go made it a more significant challenge for this space agency which termed the state as do or die. But they made it. All of the hard work and risks paid off. But the pain, the sweat, the hours of sleepless nights and tiring hard work, the inspiring story of those incredible minds and the never-ending sacrifices made by these scientists and engineers at ISRO, were just a subject to some few interviews.

Director R. Balki knew the only way to make all of the immortal and to inspire the youth of how significant achievement for the nation, the Mars orbital was, and he decided to make a film on it, cause nothing touches more than a flawless narrative. And we agree with him. To effect and reach the masses, it is always the entertainment media that can set a message.

So here are ten lessons that mission mangal teaches us.

  1. ISRO, Made in India!

There's nothing more pride-filled then to voice it's my country.ISRO indeed is another house of patriots that are so dedicated to making this country proud. This movie shows us what it takes to make something huge possible, what it takes to make a nation known worldwide for good. This movie was a must because we believe such talented and hardworking scientists aren't as celebrated as they should be. Also when most of the brightest of Indian minds think of leaving for big names like NASA, there have been people who have given their everything to pull up this country in the aeronautical universe, rather than just complaining. The whole of the Mars mission was housed and modelled and perfected by solely the Indian scientists and engineers. This is a tribute to them. Now every time the name of ISRO flashes, we are sure, your heart will swell with pride. ISRO is indeed 100% made in India.

  1. Yes, we can dream!

Though being reminded every time of how impossible a feat it was, the scientists at ISRO never gave up. This is a movie that gives you the power to dream. When a nation that wasn't even ready for the moon mission starts dreaming of sending its representation to Mars and eventually does it, you believe what dreams are made of.

  1. Indian daughters

The brainchild of the Mars mission was a boon grafted in the brains of some of the most incredible women scientists of ISRO. A team of five, smashing the typical patriarchal stereotypes, these women in ISRO, will make you want to stand up and take a bow. With a majority of the scientists involved being women, this was the turning point of Indian aeronautical science. Something as basic as home science could indeed drive you to Mars. Who could have thought about it? Our women did ! And so here we are proud beyond words.

  1. Hunger to be independent

We sure are absolute fans of NASA. But we know a multitude of Indians who voice the thought that these things aren't possible for a country like India. Impersonating such thoughts is the NASA returned Indian expert at ISRO. His thoughts mimic the majority of Indians who believed ISRO couldn't pull off a task that NASA itself couldn't. We don't blame him cause until then he never had anyone to prove it wrong. But then like a lot of Indians, he was shoved off as well, when the faith in themselves and the hunger to be independent of any foreign space agency drove the scientists and engineers at ISRO to kiss success solely on their efforts and technology.

  1. Teamwork is the key

Throughout the movie, something that is heard over a repeated chant is the word impossible. But as one scientist gave up, some others would raise a shoulder of hope and this how it works in teamwork. With the support system so strong, it's nearly impossible to fail.

  1. India's first-ever space-related realistic film

Exploring a landmark event, this is a film that takes us to a different route from commercial cinema. This film is an intake of the finest of Indian science field that every aeronautical enthusiast should lend his eyes to.

  1. Igniting young minds

APJ Abdul Kalam was undoubtedly one of the most famous scientists of all times. He was known for inspiring young minds. After his demise, India saw a rapid loss in the interest of the youth in the field of national science. To ignite these young hearts, what better way would it be to gift them such an inspiring movie on the eve of Independence Day.

  1. Why ignore haters

This movie gives you an insight into how the tables turn when the haters turn admirers. All credits to your hard-earned success. So take a chill pill, work hard and let them speak.

  1. Notice, observe

We often are forgetful, and we tend to not notice much of the typical day to day things. But when you see this movie, we are sure you will take a keen interest in noticing everything around you as great observers make a great scientist.

  1. Humour saves the day

We often take up dangerous things so seriously that we lose the essence of life. We forget to smile and joke and are happy. This movie teaches you to laugh your way out of adversities.
